Application opens December 2022 The Pay It Forward Program is sponsored by Stretesky Foundation. It is a opportunity for local brick and mortar businesses to receive a credit for their utility bill. Businesses with 7 or fewer employees qualify for a $500 dollar credit and businesses with 8 or more employees qualify for $1000 credit. To qualify businesses must complete a short application and donate a prize valued at $75 for small businesses and for larger businesses $150 prize. Prizes will then be raffled off to the public. And all ticket sales will be donated and split among the Sedgwick county schools
Business Improvements
Application
Sedgwick County Economic Development received a grant from the Stretesky Foundation to begin a “Sedgwick County Business Improvement Project”. The program was developed in recognition of the need to encourage and financially assist businesses in the county to replace existing signs that are old or to put signs up where there is none and/or improve the facade of businesses to look more appealing to shoppers who visit the county’s business areas. The project will help to beautify the county and create uniformity.
Student loan Pay back
Application
The purpose of the Sedgwick County Student Loan Payment Program is to recruit businesses into Sedgwick County, Colorado. Sedgwick County is located in the extreme Northeast corner of Colorado at the crossroads of Interstate 80 and Interstate 76, bordered to the North and East by Nebraska. Sedgwick County has something for everyone. Sedgwick County Economic Development Corporation offers the Student Loan Payment Program as an incentive to those individuals wanting to open or purchase a business in Sedgwick County provided they qualify. General Eligibility Individuals who plan to open or purchase a business in Sedgwick County, Colorado may be eligible to receive repayment of qualified student loans. The business must be located in Sedgwick County. The recipient must reside within the designated area in and around Sedgwick County, Colorado. Application and Awards The application can be found on pages 3 - 8 in this packet. Applications are open year-round and the total awards will vary depending on fund availability and contractual obligation.
Business Programs provide financial backing and technical assistance to stimulate business creation and growth. The programs work through partnerships with public and private community based organizations and financial institutions to provide financial assistance, business development, and technical assistance to rural businesses. Loans, loan guarantees, and grants are available to individuals, businesses, cooperatives, farmers and ranchers, public bodies, non-profit corporations, Native American Tribes, and private companies in rural communities.
The Rural Jump-Start Program incentivizes new businesses start in or move into rural, economically distressed areas and hire new employees. To be eligible, businesses cannot compete with similar businesses in the county or adjacent economically distressed county. The program provides both a grant and tax credit to businesses.
